Jailan Heidar, MSc.
Hi I’m Jailan and I’m here to help you bring easy and practical Positive Parenting tools into your daily life.
I work with families, like yours, to help make their daily lives easier when it comes to parenting. I want to help you bring more joy and harmony into your day and weed out unnecessary stress.
We work together to get to the root of your core issues and decide on parenting solutions that you feel can work for your family. I always make sure you are comfortable with the advice and help setup a step by step plan for you if needed.
Why I do what I do
I believe that families deserve support in their daily parenting challenges. My dream is to bring Positive Parenting to every family I work with. Give you practical and simple tools that are adaptable to your unique family.
As a mother myself and previous Early Childhood Educator I know first hand how well Positive Parenting techniques work.
I want to bring those tools to you to help you realize the family dynamics and harmony that you deserve. I want to help you be a confident, strong parent and raise happy, confident children with tools that promote mutual respect to everyone in the family.
A bit about me
Originally from Egypt I moved to Munich in 2016 where I live with my husband and our toddler son after living in Amsterdam for 8 years.
My journey with Positive Parenting started when I had a temp job as a preschool teacher. To help a child who was sadly labelled a “problem child” I took a positive discipline course. In just a few weeks this boy blossomed into a confident, happy, cooperative child who began making friends and catching up after showing speech delay. I realized then that children’s behavior is extremely sensitive to their caregivers’ behavior. It was then that I decided to help get the teachings of Positive Parenting to as many families as I could. That was 10 years ago.
For the past decade I’ve worked with young children at home and in childcare, families with young children and continuously learning and completing studies in Child & Family and Child Development.
In 2013 I took the step to start Early Years Parenting and dedicate myself to working with families with young children to help you with everyday parenting struggles, understanding your child’s development and finding your own parenting style for your unique family. My method focuses on bringing together science backed information and practical tips that you can use.
I’m also currently a PhD candidate at Leiden University’s Institute for Child and Family Studies. You can read more about my experience.

Early Years Parenting
The idea behind Early Years Parenting developed in 2010 while I was working at a preschool and noticed common questions and concerns from parents. ” How do I get my point across to my child? Does time-out really work? What about television? “
Early Years Parenting was developed to help parents gain an understanding of young children’s development and gain effective parenting tools based on scientific research and credible resources.
The first five years of young children’s lives involve dramatic changes in your child’s development and sets the tone for the relationship you have with your child. That’s why the goal of Early Years Parenting is to help mothers and fathers have confident and happy parenting experiences to help nurture positive and loving relationships with their kids.
I provide services for families depending on your family’s unique needs through individualized parent consults, tailored workshops and parent support groups.
Positive Parenting
The core of my work with families is rooted in the principles of Positive Parenting. I draw inspiration from experts such as Jane Nelson, Alfie Kohn, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish as well as my own experiences and up to date research.
The key concepts of Positive Parenting are rooted in understanding your child’s’ development and behavior. I focus on giving you easy practical tools that you can use immediately that suit your unique family.
Positive Parenting is based on offering your child guidance and support. Positive Parenting does not promote permissiveness or lack of respect and discipline. It focuses on using non-punitive methods based on mutual respect and replacing punishment with experiences that teach young child to become responsible, respectful and resourceful young people.
