Hi!
I’m Jailan Heidar, a certified parenting educator and mom of two little ones. Like many families worldwide, our family has also been affected by the coronavirus. Overnight, my husband is working from home and both kids (5 and 2) are home for five weeks.
Like many of you reading this, I confess that I did have a minor panic moment thinking about how we would handle five weeks with the kiddos. Especially since these are not vacation weeks and we are also required to maintain social distancing. So no frequent playdates or getting a babysitter.
A minor freakout is OK! Just make sure you calm down and think about what you can control in your immediate environment.
Before my kids went to childcare, I successfully worked from home with my kids in tow. There are many techniques you can use to get your work done while still giving your child the attention they deserve. It does not have to be all or nothing.
In this guide, I’ll share with you my own work from home with kids strategies and a draft of my activity planner. I’ve even got you covered with a list of my favourite activity websites so you can brainstorm fun activities with the kids that will keep them engaged.
